The benefits of raising the Ohio cigarette tax far outweigh the costs, analysis says

Gov. Mike DeWine earlier this year proposed nearly doubling Ohio’s cigarette tax to fund child tax credits. It didn’t pass the legislature, but if it had passed, it would have created significant economic benefits beyond the tax credit, a new analysis shows.
